Salmon steak with vegetable salad and cauliflower

Who doesn’t love salmon? I don’t find someone who doesn’t appreciate this fish and don’t eat such delicious meals with it.

However, if somebody asked me: “What kind of fish is my favorite?”, I will honestly have answered: “Salmon”. Yes, that’s right. I choose this fish not only because it has a very delicious taste and light texture. I love salmon because it is very healthy and very nutritious product and you can easily cook many kinds of meals using it.

So, let’s prepare this easy and delicious dish with salmon, vegetable salad and batter – dipped cauliflower.

For steak
  1. 1 salmon steak
  2. ¼ tsp. of thyme
  3. Pinch of fennel seeds
  4. Pinch of cumin seeds
  5. 1 lime or lemon
  6. 30 ml of olive oil
  7. Sea salt and black pepper
For batter – dipped cauliflower
  1. 1 head of cauliflower
  2. 2 eggs
  3. Pinch of oregano
  4. 30 ml of olive oil
  5. Sea salt, black pepper
For easy vegetable salad
  1. Salad leaves (as your choice)
  2. 2 medium cucumbers
  3. 1 onion
  4. 2 tomatoes
  5. 1 lemon
  6. 1 tbsp. of sugar
  7. Cumin seeds
  8. Fennel seeds
  9. Fresh coriander
  10. 1 to 2 tbsp. of olive oil
  11. Sea salt, black pepper
  12. Basil leaves and olives for decorating
For steak
  1. Place a non – stick frying pan on the medium heat, sprinkle with fennel and cumin seeds. Add olive oil and heat it up.
  2. Put washed and drained salmon steak into frying pan.
  3. Tilt the frying pan and drizzle steak with olive oil from frying pan.
  4. Cook steak on each side for 5 to 7 minutes. Line plate with paper towel and put prepared steak on top of it.
For batter – dipped cauliflower
  1. Divide cauliflower into inflorescences, wash them and put into a pan with slightly salty boiling water.
  2. Boil for 7 minutes and then drain the water.
  3. Break two eggs into a bowl, season with salt and pepper, sprinkle with oregano and whisk until combine.
  4. Add olive oil into a pan, warm it up.
  5. Dip cooled cauliflower into egg mixture and cook on each side for 3 to 5 minutes or until golden.
For vegetable salad
  1. Thinly slice peeled onion, put into a bowl, season with salt, sprinkle with some sugar, drizzle with lemon juice and set aside.
  2. Cut salad leaves into pieces and put into a salad bowl.
  3. Thinly cut the cucumbers and add into salad.
  4. Slice tomatoes into pieces.
  5. Add tomatoes and pickled onion into salad bowl. Season with salt, pepper and drizzle with lime juice.
  6. Finely chop the fresh coriander.
  7. Add coriander into a salad, sprinkle with sugar, stir and drizzle with olive oil.
  8. Decorate with olives.
Assembling of meal
  1. Put salmon steak on large rectangular serving plate. Add cauliflower on one side and salad on another side.
  2. Decorate with basil leaves and serve.
